Eyes snare a picture
of a woman in pink.
She stares from a window of
a square white house
that squats in a field filled
with languid black and white cows.
Hooves folded under,
they chew lazily
in a lush field.
The scene, framed
in the canvas of memory,
lives on in Gauguin colors.
